WHYC Wednesday Night Series – June 4 Recap
“Hi Toots!” Leads After Tactical Win on a Gorgeous Night
Last night’s race brought light breeze, smooth sailing, and a picture-perfect Watch Hill evening. Five boats competed, with “Hi Toots!” (#15) taking the win—earning her the top spot in the series standings after two races.
Why the Rankings Shuffled
Though Hi Toots!, Bahama Gal, and Goose are tied with 4 points each, sailing rules determine placement by using tie-breakers:
-
A8.1: The boat with the best single finish breaks the tie. “Hi Toots!” had a 1st place finish, beating “Goose” (best: 2nd).
-
A8.2: When the best scores are tied, the most recent race takes priority. “Hi Toots!” beat “Bahama Gal” in the latest race (1 vs. 3).
So, while all three boats are sailing strong, the rules give the edge to “Hi Toots!”
