Notice of Race
1. Organizing Authority
1.1. The Organizing Authority is the Watch Hill Yacht Club.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The One-Design Racing Series is open to WH-15s, wooden WH-15s and 420s.
2.2. All skippers of WH-15s shall be members of the WH-15 Class in good standing.
3. Schedule
3.1. For the WH-15 class, the season shall be scored in multiple series: Wednesday Night Series, Spring Series, July Series, August Series, Fall Series. Summer Series (combined July and August) will also be scored, as described in the Sailing Instructions.
3.1.1.Wednesday Night Series will run from the first Wednesday after Memorial day through the Wednesday before Columbus Day.
3.1.2.Spring Series will run from Memorial day through the last Saturday in June.
3.1.3.July Series will run from either the first Saturday in July or just after the "July 4th" race through The last Saturday in July
3.1.4.August Series will run from the first Saturday in August through Labor Day
3.1.5.Fall Series will run from the Saturday after Labor Day through In Indigenous Peples' Day (Columbus Day)
3.2. There will be additional trophy races throughout the season, which will include Memorial Day Race, Chew Memorial Race, Horton 1-Design, Fuller Labor Day Race, Columbus Day Race.
3.3. Trophy Races will be part of individual series scores, as further described in the Sailing Instructions.
3.4. Full schedule of all races is available as an Addendum to the Sailing Instructions.
4. Sailing Instructions
4.1. The sailing instructions will be available on the WHYC website and in the WHYC clubhouse.
5. Prizes
5.1. Awards will be given to the top three finishers for each series as well as Trophy Races
6. Insurance
6.1. All yachts competing must have current proof of insurance filed with the Race Committee and the Watch Hill Yacht Club. This rule specifically applies to competing, not just to scoring. Each participating yacht shall be insured with valid third-party insurance with a minimum of $300,000 per incident or the equivalent.
7. Disclaimer of Liability
7.1. Competitors participate entirely at their own risk (see RRS 3, Decision to Race). The Watch Hill Yacht Club will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after racing.
